Our tools

DEEPYDRO

To size power plants and analyze the profitability of hydroelectric plant projects, the DEEPYDRO software developed by HYDREOLE is used. This software has been specifically designed for feasibility studies related to the rehabilitation or construction of small hydroelectric plants in France.

ETHyC

ETHyC (Evaluation Tool of Hydroelectric Capacity) is a large-scale hydroelectric potential assessment tool developed by HYDREOLE. By leveraging various data layers, including topography, precipitation, evapotranspiration, and temperature, it enables the calculation of mean flow rates and elevation at any point worldwide. The tool also calculates the total head, design flow, distance, slope, and power output (minimum and maximum) between a water intake point and a restitution point. ETHyC supports all power ranges (from kW to GW) across watersheds of any size. It operates on QGIS and is typically combined with additional analyses to identify the most suitable sites for hydroelectric developments.

TURBNPRO

TURBNPRO is a specialized software for the preliminary design of hydroelectric turbines. It enables rapid analysis of numerous configurations for a given site and, in the context of rehabilitating an existing site, verifies the compatibility of various turbine types and their potential configurations within the existing civil engineering structures.

TURBeau

TURBeau is a specialized modeling tool for hydraulic systems and the systematic analysis of water supply equipment. HYDREOLE uses the TURBEAU software (TURBinage des EAUx potables), developed by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland), to efficiently identify suitable sites for the installation of turbine stations by calculating their energy potential and economic performance.

SIMSEN

SIMSEN is software developed by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland) for hydraulic modeling of hydroelectric facilities, with a particular focus on transient analysis and stability control.

Sondes piézométriques

As part of certain project studies, we install piezometric level sensors with GSM data transmission. These sensors allow for monitoring and reconstructing the hydrology of a watercourse where no prior data is available.

As part of our projects involving the creation or renovation of hydroelectric facilities, Hydreole relies on the expertise of HEC-RAS, a leading hydraulic modeling software. This tool allows us to precisely assess the impact of proposed technical solutions on water levels and flow velocities in watercourses.

What is HEC-RAS?

HEC-RAS, developed since 1995 by the U.S. Department of Defense, is dedicated to simulating flows in rivers, channels, and associated structures. This software is based on robust mathematical approaches:

  • Saint Venant equations for 1D modeling,
  • Wave diffusion equations for 2D modeling.

Why use HEC-RAS?

With HEC-RAS, we can:

  • Develop realistic hydraulic models tailored to each project,
  • Perform precise calculations to simulate current and future site conditions,
  • Visualize results to anticipate the effects of proposed developments on the environment and infrastructure.

Expertise at Your Service

By combining the power of HEC-RAS with our expertise in hydraulics and hydroelectricity, Hydreole ensures high-quality studies that meet the technical and environmental requirements of your projects.
